Alex Wolf, MEd, RCT, CCC
Clinical Director & Registered Counselling Therapist
I began my educational pursuits at Saint Mary's University completing an Honours in Psychology and a Major in Criminology. I then went on to complete a Masters degree in Counselling (MEd) from Acadia University in 2016. I am both a Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).
I work from a trauma-informed and harm-reduction perspective to best serve and support you. I aim to help you integrate mind, brain, body, and story through experiences that support you in resolving difficulties and in trying out new ways of being with yourself and others. In order to achieve this integration, I believe it is important to address issues both in the short-term (by developing coping skills) and over the long-term (by getting to the root of your difficulties).

My specific therapeutic approach is an integrative one. I incorporate a focused range of therapeutic modalities into my work depending on what particular issues you are working through and on what seems to resonate with you—adapting to work as effectively as possible with you. Primarily, I incorporate Narrative Therapy, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), and Nature-Based Therapy, as well as elements of mindfulness practices. I am committed to ongoing professional development and as of May 2023, I have been undertaking a 3-year advanced training in ISTDP.

When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy hiking, playing guitar, and spending time with my wife and sons.
