Alex Wolf, MEd, RCT, CCC

Clinical Director & Registered Counselling Therapist

I began my educational pursuits at Saint Mary's University completing an Honours in Psychology and a Major in Criminology. I then went on to complete a Masters degree in Counselling (MEd) from Acadia University in 2016. I am a Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT), a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and an approved supervisor for RCT Candidates with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists.

I work from a trauma-informed and harm-reduction perspective to best serve and support you. I aim to help you integrate mind, brain, body, and story through experiences that support you in resolving difficulties and in trying out new ways of being with yourself and others. In order to achieve this integration, I believe it is important to address issues both in the short-term (by developing coping skills) and over the long-term (by getting to the root of your difficulties).

My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to the individual. I draw on a focused range of modalities based on the issues you are working through and what resonates most with you—adapting my approach to support effective and meaningful change. My work is grounded primarily in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)—in which I have completed an IEDTA-certified three-year Core Training—alongside Narrative Therapy, Nature-Based Therapy, ACT, and elements of mindfulness practices.

When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy hiking, playing guitar, and spending time with my wife and sons.
