Joe Savidge, MEd, RCT-C
Registered Counselling Therapist - Candidate
After completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Victoria, I studied for my Master's in Counselling (MEd) at Acadia University. Today I split my time between my roles as a counsellor here at Wolf Counselling Therapy (since 2023) and at Dalhousie University (since 2021).

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in suicide/crisis support with youth and young adults, and in paediatric psychosocial care with children and families. These roles today inform my counselling style: empathetic listening combined with open and playful curiosity. My education in science and my experiences in industry have informed my preference for evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I value opportunities to learn and grow from ongoing research, as well as the wisdom of my mentors and colleagues, and I feel privileged to have lived and worked around the world. In my downtime I devote time to surfing, mountain biking, and quiet moments with a book and a warm beverage.
